AMERICAN JOURNAL OF ROENTGENOLOGY. Assessment of Early Treatment Response With DWI After CT-Guided Radiofrequency Ablation of Functioning Adrenal Adenomas

Thiago F. Nunes, Denis Szejnfeld, Jacob Szejnfeld, Claudio E. Kater, Salomão Faintuch, Charlles H. M. Castro and Suzan M. Goldman

OBJECTIVE. The objective of this study was to establish the suitability of the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) as a parameter for evaluating early treatment response after percutaneous ablation of functional adrenal adenomas.

AMERICAN JOURNAL OF ROENTGENOLOGY. Transradial Approach for Hepatic Radioembolization: Initial Results and Technique

Vivian L. Bishay, Derek M. Biederman, Thomas J. Ward, Imramsjah Martijn J. van der Bom, Rahul S. Patel, Edward Kim, Francis S. Nowakowski, Robert A. Lookstein and Aaron M. Fischman

OBJECTIVE. The transradial approach (TRA) has been shown to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with arterial coronary interventions. Selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT) performed via the TRA can enhance patient comfort, compared with the traditional transfemoral approach (TFA), by allowing immediate ambulation and precluding potential complications associated with the TFA, such as closure device injury or retroperitoneal hematoma. We report our initial experience with and technique for using the TRA for SIRT.

AMERICAN JOURNAL OF ROENTGENOLOGY. Aggressive Intrasegmental Recurrence of Hepatocellular Carcinoma After Combined Transarterial Chemoembolization and Radiofrequency Ablation

Kyoung Doo Song, Min Woo Lee, Hyunchul Rhim, Young-sun Kim, Tae Wook Kang, Sung Wook Shin and Sung Ki Cho

OBJECTIVE. The goal of this study is to evaluate the outcomes of combined transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) and radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in terms of the frequency of aggressive intrasegmental recurrence.

AMERICAN JOURNAL OF ROENTGENOLOGY. Computer-Based Vertebral Tumor Cryoablation Planning and Procedure Simulation Involving Two Cases Using MRI-Visible 3D Printing and Advanced Visualization

Jeffrey P. Guenette, Nathan Himes, Andreas A. Giannopoulos, Tatiana Kelil, Dimitris Mitsouras and Thomas C. Lee

OBJECTIVE. We report the development and use of MRI-compatible and MRI-visible 3D printed models in conjunction with advanced visualization software models to plan and simulate safe access routes to achieve a theoretic zone of cryoablation for percutaneous image-guided treatment of a C7 pedicle osteoid osteoma and an L1 lamina osteoblastoma. Both models altered procedural planning and patient care.

AMERICAN JOURNAL OF ROENTGENOLOGY. Preoperative Pulmonary Nodule Localization: A Comparison of Methylene Blue and Hookwire Techniques

Mark Kleedehn, David H. Kim, Fred T. Lee, Jr., Meghan G. Lubner, Jessica B. Robbins, Timothy J. Ziemlewicz and J. Louis Hinshaw

OBJECTIVE. Small pulmonary nodules are often difficult to identify during thoracoscopic resection, and preoperative CT-guided localization performed using either hookwire placement or methylene blue injection can be helpful. The purpose of this study is to compare the localization success and complication rates of these two techniques.

AMERICAN JOURNAL OF ROENTGENOLOGY. Thermal Ablation of Colorectal Lung Metastases: Retrospective Comparison Among Laser-Induced Thermotherapy, Radiofrequency Ablation, and Microwave Ablation

Thomas J. Vogl, Romina Eckert, Nagy N. N. Naguib, Martin Beeres, Tatjana Gruber-Rouh and Nour-Eldin A. Nour-Eldin

OBJECTIVE. The purpose of this study is to retrospectively evaluate local tumor control, time to tumor progression, and survival rates among patients with lung metastatic colorectal cancer who have undergone ablation therapy performed using laser-induced thermotherapy (LITT), radiofrequency ablation (RFA), or microwave ablation (MWA).

AMERICAN JOURNAL OF ROENTGENOLOGY. Changing Patterns in the Performance of Fluoroscopically Guided Interventional Procedures and Adherence to Radiation Safety Practices in a U.S. Cohort of Radiologic Technologists

Hyeyeun Lim, Martha S. Linet, Miriam E. Van Dyke, Donald L. Miller, Steven L. Simon, Alice J. Sigurdson and Cari M. Kitahara

OBJECTIVE. Information is limited on changes over time in the types of fluoroscopically guided interventional procedures performed and associated radiation safety practices used by radiologic technologists.

AMERICAN JOURNAL OF ROENTGENOLOGY. Prospective Comparison of Reduced-Iodine-Dose Virtual Monochromatic Imaging Dataset From Dual-Energy CT Angiography With Standard-Iodine-Dose Single-Energy CT Angiography for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm

Mukta D. Agrawal, George R. Oliveira, Sanjeeva P. Kalva, Daniella F. Pinho, Ronald S. Arellano and Dushyant V. Sahani

OBJECTIVE. The purpose of this study was to compare the image quality of reduced-iodine-dose single-source dual-energy CT angiography (CTA) with that of standard-iodine-dose single-energy CTA in examinations of patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm and to assess the effect of the concentration of iodinated contrast medium on intravascular enhancement and image quality of reduced-iodine-dose CTA.
