Background—Peripheral percutaneous transluminal angioplasty is fraught with a substantial risk of restenosis and reintervention. A drug-eluting balloon (DEB) based on a novel coating was compared with uncoated balloons in patients undergoing femoro-popliteal percutaneous transluminal angioplasty.
Purpose: To evaluate the safety, comfort, and efficacy of an extravascularly deployed bioabsorbable plug–based vascular closure device (VCD) for sealing 6-F antegrade access sites in patients requiring peripheral endovascular intervention.
Purpose: Compression of the left common iliac vein (CIV; LCIV) is a known risk factor for lower-extremity deep vein thrombosis (DVT). This study was performed to model the probability of DVT based on LCIV diameter and apply this to a quantitative DVT risk factor scoring system. Purpose: To compare the thrombolytic efficacy and safety of standard catheter-directed thrombolysis (CDT) and ultrasound (US)-accelerated thrombolysis (UAT) for the treatment of iliofemoral deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Background—Recent findings suggest that chronic kidney disease (CKD) may be associated with an increased risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE). Given the high prevalence of mild-to-moderate CKD in the general population, in depth analysis of this association is warranted. Purpose: To evaluate the feasibility and safety of using the 8-F Angio-Seal vascular closure device (VCD) to seal large-caliber (>8-F) access sites during percutaneous endovascular interventions. Journal of Endovascular Therapy August 2012, Vol. 19, No. 4, pp. 497-500
Purpose: To describe a technique in which percutaneous orbital atherectomy is used to debulk heavily calcified superior mesenteric artery (SMA) occlusions as an adjunct in patients undergoing angioplasty and stenting. Journal of Endovascular Therapy August 2012, Vol. 19, No. 4, pp. 489-494
Purpose: To evaluate the role of orbital atherectomy in calcified infrapopliteal arteries in patients with critical limb ischemia compared to balloon angioplasty (BA) alone. Journal of Endovascular Therapy August 2012, Vol. 19, No. 4, pp. 480-488
